Final Artefact…the end

Before I began my final web page with Flash built in, we had another workshop to show us a bit more about Flash we went over how to do our basic slideshow again which I had already done last week, we then took a look at adding little movies between the slides so that when you hit the forward button the screen would go black then fade in the picture if we had done this before each slide it would give your slideshow a little bit more body. We didn’t have to add this as it was just an extra little thing, I chose not to as it was going to take quite a while to do and I still needed to do my final Dreamweaver web page. We also got shown how to save it as a file that could be seen on our web pages so people could use the slideshow so we published them, after that I put my Flash Slideshow onto my USB and also my original DIV Tag web page I created in class onto my USB so I had something to work from when I got home.

I started to create my final web page in Dreamweaver, I uploaded my Flash slideshow and original DIV Tag web page onto my computer and put them in a new file directory for Dreamweaver to work from then opened Dreamweaver and opened up my original web page I started to edit some of the sizes of the DIV Tags so they were equal and also changed the colour of the main background using CSS I then started to add buttons in the LeftNav box that would when clicked on go straight to the image selected as you can see here:

I created a welcome page explaining how it all works with two of my images on, The ‘I’ and ‘Do You…’ I saved this as my index and ‘saved as’ page2 so I had the basic layout for my second page. I then only had to change what was in the RightNav DIV Tag box to a bit of text and the correct image. I then started to link the buttons on the left and also the forwards and backwards buttons and when I previewed it, it was working, finally it worked and looked good you can see it here:

So once I had created all my web pages with my images on and linked them all up so when you clicked on a button in the Navigation it linked to the correct page and that the forwards and backwards buttons worked I started to create my last page with my Flash Slideshow on, it worked and when I previewed it in the web browser you could watch the slideshow, I made links on every page for you to leave the normal slideshow to go and see my Flash Slideshow as I didn’t do a link in the navigation. When this was done my web page was complete, I was happy with how it looked obviously I wasn’t deliriously happy as it doesn’t look like a real web page well like a very old one anyway, but that would take a lot more time and I would need to have learnt a lot more, this is my first steps and I am happy and really excited for next year when I learn more : ) but I did add one last thing to my web page to make it a bit more like a proper one, as I made links so when you click on the images it opens a new web page and you can see the image bigger I liked this and thought it was a nice touch so people could see my Slideshow images bigger.

I have really enjoyed this course and think I have come quite far with my skills gaining new ones and adding more to what I already knew and think I have created a fairly good final artefact that I am proud of.
